There are bonds that nothing can undermine. You are Agatha gives poetic form to an unrepresentable mystery: the desperate and impossible love between a brother and a sister. Hidden in this fictional story there is of course the burning autobiography of Marguerite Duras and the memory of her love for her brother Paulo who died when he was an adolescent.
In her childhood villa, now abandoned, Agatha meets her brother. She has decided to leave and interrupt the incestuous relationship that unites them; she has met a man and will go to live with him. However the impending separation brings back memories, which are not fading away. Their incestuous and indissoluble relationship is an inverted mirror that reflects our difficulty in meeting and accepting the freedom of the Other and the pain of failure.
The stage is empty in order to host a ritual between two bodies that have always looked for each other without being able to touch. Theater becomes the ideal place to investigate the heart of the relationship and release that ferocious desire that has long been frustrated.
Tu sei Agatha is the story of a love and the attempt to survive its strength.
