From creating, designing and conceptualising to filtering, circulating and amplifying, publishing practices involve different processes and matters. Even though there are multiple theories and authors that approach each of them in a particular way, I propose to make a pause on defining them individually and focus on possible entanglements. Not to find a generalized idea of publishing but to see it as a complex and interwoven materiality.
The current state of the glossary was made during different workshop sessions were practitioners are invited to question, reflect and diffract on the current publishing practice. Based on the previous state of the glossary, this sessions are called Rumination Sessions as a performance of multiple digestion. The participants added new entries, annotated on previous ones, highlighted snippets of it, bring up questions. The process aims to re-think and create collectively every word definition as a layering of annotations. Unlike traditional glossaries, in this glossary words are open to interpretation, expansion and mostly transformation.

Welcome to the pad side of the glossary,
Here, words are gathered and new annotations and properties are written on them.
You are welcome to participate, but have in mind that the structure of this glossary is sensitive to changes. So, it's important to know a few things before doing your contribution.
* Every word entry is fenced between colons (:::)
* All annotations are written after an arrow ⤷
* Properties are between curly brackets {.property}
* The hyperlinks use this format [⤴︎](link)
* Use the template at the bottom of this pad to add a new word card.
* Use 'cmd f' if you are looking for a word.
* Be careful and respectful with this space. <3 Is yours as well.
Every now and then a script convert the content of this pad into the glossary website. So you won't see your contribution in there instantly.
If you want to know more about the project visit the website or
write us an e-mail, we'll be happy to hear from you.

Alguna vez leí que la complejidad es aquello que no se puede resumir a una sola palabra. Este glossario, por ejemplo, intenta explicar con múltiples palabras aquello que parece complejo. Falla en el intento.

(Alex Arzt, pag 20, What Problems Can Artist Publishers Solve?)
⤷¿Cuándo este objeto dejará de existir?
⤷ “A promiscuous publication is NOT like parallel, hybrid, or cross-media publishing. It is a multi-headed and polycentric form of making public. It enjoys its various forms, and embraces their idiosyncracies. As a multi-headed publication it is NOT obsessed with providing uniform outcomes across diverse media. Having many centers, it can produce new focal points and obfuscate its origins. It explores playfully a spectral diversity with sibling out-comes and bastard children that operate out of sync or tune.” (Christoph Haag, make make do in: The Techno-Galactic Guide to Software Observation, 2016) ⤴

⤷ Markdown’s syntax is intended for one purpose: to be used as a format for writing for the web.
⤷ Markdown is not a replacement for HTML, or even close to it. Its syntax is very small, corresponding only to a very small subset of HTML tags. The idea is not to create a syntax that makes it easier to insert HTML tags. In my opinion, HTML tags are already easy to insert. The idea for Markdown is to make it easy to read, write, and edit prose. HTML is a publishing format; Markdown is a writing format. Thus, Markdown’s formatting syntax only addresses issues that can be conveyed in plain text. ⤴
⤷ This format can be useful for text projects that need to adapt to different formats
⤷ This glossary uses the markdown format. Check it here: ⤴
